Shea is great for your skin - and for the world!
I started Kadidja Handmade Collection to share one of the important parts of my culture: Shea. Shea is one of the best things you can put on your skin – it not only soothes and moistures, it also repairs damaged skin. But Shea is also important because it sustains the lives of millions of women and families in West Africa. Every time you buy my products, you’re supporting these women. They are, literally, my sisters – in Gando, Togo, where I grew up, my sisters make shea butter, too. More than 15 million women are directly involved in shea across West Africa, according to the Global Shea Alliance!
Your purchases not only support these women – by supporting Shea you are helping the environment, too. Shea trees grow across West Africa and play an important part in preventing erosion and preserving biodiversity. These beautiful trees produce a nutritious fruit and their leaves are used to make herbal medicines. The trees are uniquely adapted to the dry, hot climate. The increased awareness of the value of the trees has led to efforts to protect them and even grow them in tree nurseries. This happens thanks to purchases like yours.
Shea butter is extracted from Shea nuts using nothing but water and heat. No strange chemicals are used, no preservatives are added. So, nothing but shea butter ends up on your skin (plus organic essential oils that I add that provide additional benefits). Thank you for supporting Shea!
